OUR HISTORY

Kingston WelCare began life in 1886 when young and homeless pregnant girls were offered support and lodging at a house in Richmond Park Road in Kingston. In 1894 the organisation became part of an area-wide network providing homes for single and expectant mothers, and this support continued well into the twentieth century.

Over the following years, Kingston WelCare developed expertise in supporting parents to help some of the most vulnerable families in the borough. In 1989 we exchanged our residential home services for our current centre, providing families with safe and welcoming access to parenting support groups, workshops and activities.

Watch the video below to find out more about the origins of Kingston WelCare.
